It's not all non-symbolic AI... I presented today to Accord Project Technology Working Group on recent enhancements to the Template Engine and how TypeScript expressions within templates are compiled and evaluated. Accord Project uses TypeScript over Concerto types (with Concerto also compiled to TypeScript) to provide type-safe logic/calculations for templates; ensuring that a wide array of programming errors are caught at template compilation time, not at runtime. #typesafety #soundness #typescript #templating #legaltech

So I seem to started this screencast thingy with Raymond McDermott. We've embarked on building a CMS in Clojure, and we're starting very much from scratch. There is a small twist to this, which is that we want to defer any decision to adopt technology for as long as possible. So rather than discussing which routing library to use, what database we're going to have to set up and so on, we just start coding in a remote repl. Enjoy (or not) https://lnkd.in/dHUWwfjH

When I Train, Mentor and do Code Reviews I've seen novice and some senior developers convert 𝑰𝑬𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 collection base contract type into a concrete 𝑳𝒊𝒔𝒕<𝑻> type to iterate through the collection. You can iterate through the collection without this extra unnecessary step using 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐩. The 𝑰𝑬𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 remembers the state at which the loop is executing and it provides the items in the collection one by one as we normally get from a 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐩 (which wraps this implementation of while loop over 𝑰𝑬𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 ). So, use while loop iteration shown here whenever you get an 𝑰𝑬𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 type from a function in .NET. A very common example would be while using LINQ. Libraries like Shadcn and Material UI are great, but they often come with unnecessary bloat. For example, using Shadcn’s calendar pulls in react-day-picker, even if you only need a simple solution (like, super simple). I love Shadcn btw 💘. Instead of relying on full libraries, why not build a lightweight custom component? I created a basic date picker in 30-60 minutes using a simple utility function to generate dates. It’s easy to expand later, and you can enhance it with features like accessibility. Also, you will learn more about the Javascript Date object than you would like to 😀. Custom components offer more flexibility and save time, especially if your design team has a unique UI that off-the-shelf libraries can’t accommodate. Check it out for yourself. Feel free to use it, change it, or get inspiration.
